Hi there,
I love the custom in-game keybinding options for buildings, I use them for roads, woodcutters and shelters all the time, but having a specific keybind for discoverable buildings is completely pointless because it requires you to have their respective blueprint, making that keybind pointless. For example: I will never keybind the Monastary because I can never start with the Monastary unlocked.
I would like to suggest having a new keybinding option where you are able to cycle through all building blueprints for a particular building group which will include any settlement specific unlocks you've discovered. This can then be bound to whatever key the players wants through the existing key binding system. This would mean having a keybinding option for:
• Cycle Paths
• Cycle Camps
• Cycle Food Production
• Cycle Housing
• Cycle Industry
• Cycle City Buildings
• Cycle Decorations
How would one of these work? Very simple, let me use "Cycle Industry" bound to "F" as an example. Let's assume I want to build a Rainwater Geyser. In the main game menu, instead of having to open Industry → select Geyser, I simply press F which will change my cursor to the Crude Workshop. I can then cycle through all my Industry building by repeatedly pressing F until I get to the desired Geyser.
To improve on this further, the cycle command will keep track of your last selected blueprint too, so lets say I also want to build a Supplier that I unlocked. By pressing F again it then cycles to the Rain Collector, and then repeat pressing F until getting to my Supplier building blueprint.
I made a quick mockup of how this option may look like in the menu.
This will greatly improve the rate at which we can select blueprints without having to move around the UI too many times. Thank you!
