Make the Path the default road

i would like a setting where i could make the basic path the default road option so that i can click the road icon first and immediately start drawing the path out. the other roads are used so rarely because of the resources they consume so having one less extra click would be really nice. or even having a keybinding that switched to the basic path so i could just immediately start drawing the road out would be cool too.
