It is nice that we can put a cap on the amount of units a building can produce but it would be so much smoother if we could tell the lumber mill to make sure the planks are made before making flour.

In buildings, drag the recipes into an order of priority. Whatever is at the top will always be produced first.
Keep the current ability to uncheck a recipe and the decide the maximum produced.
Why not add crafting priority to buildings? For example, I want the boards to be crafted only if there is nothing to make the fabric from.

I would like to have more control over my building. If we could give them clear priorities for tasks we could then combine those with max amounts. Bakery: First make sure there are enough biscuits, if there are enough, make pies instead. At the moment, we can just give targets without priority

So a priority button 1/2/3 (havent seen 4 good buildings) where it 1st makes the goods till the limit you set could do the trick I guess
If thats doable
you could also add a "burning priority" in the hearth
