I don't use the remove tool on roads often, but when I do, it's a pain to click each individual section I want removed. Sometimes I have a long section I misclicked or want to adjust to make the end result look prettier or make space for a building. Would be nice to click and drag if that's possible.

Drag path deletion and hold ctrl or shift to turn path building to delete.
Path building should be easy and if you make a mistake, just hold ctrl or something to drag it back.

When going to delete an item or tile you can multi select
eg.
highlight an entire path rather than one tile at a time

I like how Anno handles this: the object your start your drag on is the only think you'll delete. So if you start on a road, only roads in your drag area will be destroyed. (Or houses, etc.)

Would be great to be able to drag to delete, especially paths I've mislaid.
Pretty low-priority though.

Also. having the number of road tiles being laid would be useful.
Can we have a click and drag demolish like we have with fields creation?
Thank you!

There is often a handful of specific roads that I wish to destroy that is impeding construction of a new building. I believe it would be easier to add a small selection popup and allow highlighting of road spaces (especially through occluding buildings), with a destroy option in the dialog that appears. This would help as an alternative to having to carefully click each section of road with the destroy tool.
You could enable a shortcut like Shift to change the selection cursor to a "remove road" cursor and click to select roads, then click the dialog to remove them.
A destroy button could be added to other structures' selection dialogs as well, but I think it would see the most use on roads.

In the current system you have to click seperately for each tile of road you want to destroy. Would be more convenient if I can drag, when destroying roads.

Let me hold shift to click and drag an area (like with farmland) so I can destroy all my roads at once. Clicking on individual roads is annoying.

Replacing a road is a pain because I have to individually click each individual road segment to destroy it. Let me drag and drop with the destroy tool please - maybe only while holding shift to avoid accidental mayhem :)

Sometimes, there is a need to destroy more than "one" road at a time. I don't neglect that maybe I'm just blind ... but, I didn't find a shortcut or an option allowing destroying more than one road by selecting its length or path. It would be nice to have such an option in-game.

There are cases where you want to make or delete roads en mass, and since someone did ask about defaulting the road button to dirt by default until chose otherwise, a button to allow you to delete in stripes more easily would be nice too if you accidentally do it wrong. Right now you have to click it one single piece at a time (unless there's a trick I don't know about).
This would also help with some cases of accidentally deleting buildings instead of roads, which I'm sure others would appreciate.

It would be great if you could left click to paint roads and right click to remove roads from the road screen - I often misclick when painting roads and need to exit to the demolish screen and then go back to the road painting screen when I’m done.

+1 for allowing multiple road deletion at once - click and highlight/drag same as building farms would be perfect.
