This is already in the game ^^ If it doesn't work for you, please check the Key Bindings tab in the game's Options and make sure that Pause is assigned to the Spacebar.

It already does this, not sure if I rebound the key or if it was the default but there is a setting in your keyboard controls to pause time and mine is set to spacebar and works fine.
