It would be nice to see a short summary for all small bonuses in the city upgrades. It would also be nice to see all starting materials just before embarking on a new settlement. This would include both the event bonuses and city upgrade bonuses in addition to the present embark point bonuses and caravan starting materials/races.

Hi! I think both of those things are already in the game. You can see a summary of all stat and percentage increases in the Smoldering City under the "Game History" tab.
You can also see all the resources your settlement will have when you start on the world map. They are displayed in the Caravan Selection view - the goods you always have (due to unlocks or events) are visible by hovering over the box icon below the species portraits. RNG dependent resources are listed next to this icon.
