Currently, to see all my resources I have to click on the various tabs at the top to see what resources I have OR I have to click on a storage building.
I would really like to be able to see all my various resources at once at the top of the UI.
Hey! In one of last year's updates, we added a feature that allows you to click on resources icons in Warehouse to track them in a separate Tracked Goods category on the top HUD :)
This setting is remembered between games, so you only need to select them once.
It's a bit annoying having to click between the different categories to the left of the current season at the top. It would be nice with a key binding toggle or a permanent toggle in settings to expand *all* categories so that you can see all resources you have and their amounts.
I would like to be able to see all resources, not just the category that is chosen. It would also be great if they could have border color depending on Raw/cooked, level of procession etc
Option to show all resources in one tab, sorted in rows, or color coded, so we don't have to click on each tab.
Yes, I'd also like to be able to see all resources at once. It's hard to remember which resources you have, and the tabs don't always make a lot of sense. For example, wood is both a building material and a fuel, and I always forget which tab it's in.
Another option is to be able to click those icons and make them 'sticky' so they're always visible. you could then add a tab that is all stickied sources to minimize clutter.
Agreed, here's some feedback I left on the Discord on this topic:
Would it be possible to enable a hotkey that while pressed, it showed some sort of overlay with ALL your resources?
The resource panel at the top is useful but it's annoying having to click each category, and it hides information about the resources that aren't currently selected. Clicking on storages is even more annoying and it doesn't arrange resources by type or show their change rate.
This resource overlay I'm suggesting could be as small as the icons at the top resource bar. I think it could also be just as subtle, doesn't need to have it's own giant and pretty opaque UI window blocking what's under it. It could also have the same functionality (stock count, rate of change arrow, mouseover for details).
Layout can be one row for each resource category, with the first column showing which category it is with something to make that icon stand out.
Places where it could show, since it's a hotkey and it would only show when you're holding the key, if it doesn't show in the middle of the screen or in the bottom above the construction buttons, maybe it could replace another UI section while it's being held, such as the notification, race or perk panels. Or maybe expand the resources at the top to show all your resources
Maybe it could always be there, but realistically speaking you don't need to know ALL your resources at all times, it's only when you're making some decision or checking stocks to see if you need to take a decision. I also realize UI clutter is real and too much information can be way worse.
I think an overlay with a held down hotkey is a good compromise for on demand strategic information that isn't always needed. I think it's already been suggested too so here's more support to that idea haha.
Here's a crappy mockup in paint.net, I think it doesn't have to be much more than this, I wouldn't even put a background on it, just the icon boxes.
